It picks up right where you left it.
Take a call, close the app, let the battery die, restart the phone. Golden Cheff reopens on the same step, and your timers kept counting the whole time. Every move you make is written down as it happens, so the app rebuilds your cook exactly, not approximately.

Timers inside the steps
The sear step arrives with its 4-minute timer. One tap starts it, one tap pauses it when the doorbell rings. Timers run on the clock, not on the screen, so closing the app does not reset them.
One step, big type
One instruction fills the screen, readable from across the counter. The buttons are big enough to hit with a knuckle, which is usually what you have free while cooking.
Safety checks on the step
The steps that matter carry the safe internal temperature, like 165°F for chicken, right where you need it. Not buried at the bottom of the recipe, where nobody reads it with raw meat on their hands.
Works offline
Bad signal by the stove is normal. Once a recipe is on your phone you can cook it start to finish with no connection at all, and nothing you did gets lost when the signal comes back.
Your units, your screen
°F, cups and tablespoons by default, with °C and grams for anyone who cooks that way. On a phone you get one step at a time. On a tablet the whole recipe sits next to the step you are on, so you can see what is coming.
